Upon taking over a pre-existing studio space, Wally called SKSCR,
inc. to assess the current condition and make recommendations
to upgrade isolation and acoustic performance. The control/studio
room conditions were far from ideal and extensive remodeling
work was needed to get the rooms into working order. The control
room walls were completely covered in carpet and isolation
to an adjoining office was a concern. Recommendations included
removing carpets, adding vinyl barrier to the adjoining wall
system, and sealing doors with neoprene gaskets. Wally purchased
raw fiberglass and fabric wrapped it himself. The panels were
placed onto walls and hung from the ceilings for broadband
absorption. Additionally, he built a 3 panel booth for his
studio space and utilized existing materials to build a slatted
diffusor in his control room. A DIY success story!
