![]() The Cumulus™ is a high-performance tri-corner bass trap engineered to deliver powerful low-frequency control while blending seamlessly into virtually any room décor. Acousticians frequently target room corners for acoustic treatment because of how sound behaves in enclosed spaces. Walls and ceilings act as natural waveguides, directing sound energy toward the corners where low frequencies accumulate. The Cumulus™ is specifically designed to take advantage of this phenomenon by mounting high in the tri-corner, where two walls and the ceiling meet, to capture problematic bass buildup at its most concentrated point. Constructed from high-density 6 lb per cubic foot glass wool, the Cumulus™ provides exceptional broadband sound absorption. The material is safe to handle and has been tested to meet stringent Class-A fire safety requirements, making it suitable for professional studios, home theaters, and commercial installations alike. The absorber core is bonded to micromesh on both the front and back surfaces, while the edges are resin-hardened to fully encapsulate the fibers. The panel is then wrapped in acoustically transparent fabric to ensure maximum absorption without compromising sound performance. Installation is fast and discreet thanks to a unique spring-tension clamping system that securely locks the trap into the corner without visible mounting hardware. The result is a clean, professional appearance that preserves the room’s aesthetic. Although the panel measures 24 inches, once installed it extends only 17 inches down from the ceiling, occupying minimal wall space. This design creates a deep 17-inch air cavity behind the panel, dramatically increasing its efficiency and enabling broadband absorption down to approximately 100 Hz. This level of performance helps control modal distortion and excessive energy in the problematic low- to mid-frequency range. The Cumulus™ is an excellent acoustic foundation for home theaters, post-production suites, and project studios, especially in rooms with limited wall space or excessive low- to mid-range buildup. In professional environments such as voice-over booths and vocal recording rooms, it helps eliminate standing waves and reduces the common “chest hump” resonance between 200 Hz and 300 Hz that can make vocals sound overly boomy. Available in two architecturally neutral fabric colors, the Cumulus™ tri-corner bass trap integrates easily into most interiors and ships complete with all necessary mounting hardware for quick installation.
