VoxGuard VU – Nearfield Absorber

The Primacoustic VoxGuard™ is a portable acoustic isolation shield designed to significantly reduce ambient room noise during recording. By minimizing unwanted reflections, echo, and room reverb around the microphone, the VoxGuard allows engineers and producers to capture cleaner, more controlled vocal tracks—making it easier to apply the desired ambience and effects during mixing or post-production.

At the core of the VoxGuard is high-density open-cell acoustic foam, engineered to deliver excellent absorption across the full vocal frequency range. The foam is housed inside an extra-large, high-impact ABS outer shell that helps block external noise while directing sound energy into the absorptive material.

To further enhance performance, innovative slotted rear ports help prevent low-frequency buildup and resonance often found in traditional stand-mounted isolation devices. Once mounted, a rear cable access port allows handheld or studio microphones to be easily positioned and precisely aimed at the sound source.

The VoxGuard also features a built-in viewing window, enabling vocalists to maintain clear visual communication with engineers, producers, or other performers during recording sessions—an essential feature for maintaining connection and performance flow in the studio.

Unlike many competing designs that rely on heavy steel construction, the VoxGuard is lightweight, portable, and exceptionally easy to set up. The outer shell simply slides onto the microphone stand threads and is secured using the mic clip, shock mount, or included threaded adapters. An included extension bar provides additional positioning flexibility, allowing virtually unlimited microphone placement options. Its lightweight construction makes setup quick and safe, reducing the risk of stand instability or accidental microphone damage.

Beyond vocal recording, the VoxGuard can also function as a portable acoustic gobo, providing quick isolation for guitar amplifiers, acoustic instruments, voiceovers, podcasts, or location recording. This versatility makes it an excellent solution for recording studios, film and television production, podcasting, broadcast, and mobile recording setups.
